The Center for Colloid and Surface Science (CSGI) has an open position for a researcher, with experience in Aquatic Citizen science.
The fellow will have the possibility to work at word-class scientific level in a multidisciplinary and international team, on an EU Horizon project entitled:
“Social Transformation for Water Stewardship through Scaling Up Citizen Science”
Time period:
15 September, 2024 – 15 June, 2025

Skills/Qualifications
CSGI is looking for a highly motivated young researcher with a B.S., M.S. or M.A. in biological sciences, chemical sciences, cognitive sciences or geography, who can write and speak in English and Italian and with expertise in the following fields:
- Citizen science
- Aquatic sciences
Specific Requirements
CSGI is looking for a highly motivated young researcher with a B.S., M.S. or M.A. in biological sciences, chemical sciences, cognitive sciences or geography, who can write and speak in English and Italian and with expertise in the following fields:
- Citizen science
- Aquatic sciences
The recruited person will:
- Actively participate in research and delivery of specific deliverables of the second work package related to citizen science and the delivery of the EU Water Framework Directive, the Biodiversity Directive and Marine Directives
- Perform an in depth literature review addressing standardisation of freshwater and marine citizen science, in collaboration with OTTERs scientists
- Actively participate in biweekly research meetings with project partners
- Contribute to the finalising 3 draft White papers

Gross salary: up to EUR. 13.850 € for the 9 months of activity.

A colloquium with the evaluating committee might be requested. The colloquium can take place either face-to-face or via telematic meeting.
The commission will rank the suitable candidates; the ranking will be published on the CSGI website at https://www.csgi.unifi.it/work_with_us.php and will remain effective for a period of one year from the date of its approval. This ranking may be used by CSGI to replace the appointed candidates in the event of renunciation, non-employment, forfeiture, termination of the employment relationship, or for equivalent positions.
The winner of this position may be excluded if he/she would postpone the beginning of the research activity later than 16 September 2024.
