The role

Our new Reform Implementation Team is looking for a Senior Policy and Project Officer! This is an exciting opportunity to be a senior member of a team that drives innovation in water licensing and approvals with a digital focus. The role involves managing and coordinating the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects relating to process, policy and regulatory matters to achieve progressive outcomes that support the achievement of NSW Government’s priorities.

You will support the design and delivery of business improvement reform programs and projects through governance and policy means, targeting organisational capability, financial savings, business systems, information communication and technology improvements and efficiencies. The role supports project execution, change management, tracking and reporting to influence the organisational structure, ways of working and culture.

What you will bring to the role

  • Project management expertise: Knowledge and experience in all aspects of project implementation, including monitoring and evaluation, risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess progress and effectiveness, and achieve outcomes.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Experience in engaging with various stakeholders and managing project consultations and negotiations, given varying expectations, viewpoints and interests.
  • Analytical and time management skills: Ability to critically analyse and evaluate key issues, providing innovative solutions and recommendations, while achieving project deadlines and milestones to the required standards, given the need to simultaneously coordinate and deliver multiple projects that are complex and interconnected.
