BACKGROUND
United Nation Office for Project Service (UNOPS) is offering strategic-technical assistance and capacity building support to the govt of India under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Rajasthana and Tamilnadu. United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has selected Institute for Development Support (IDS) as a grantee for the implementation of capacity building and management support activities under the JJM. IDS is in process of hiring consultant at the state level for the implementation of project activities.
OVERVIEW OF THE POSITIONS:
- The selected candidate would work through short term consultancy contract with Institute for Development Support (IDS), Dehradun and will be based at Jaipur , Rajasthan.
- Candidates who meet the required qualifications and experience are invited to apply in reply to an announcement, following which a desk review of their skills and experience will be done to see their suitability as Consultant-
- Only short-listed candidates will be called for telephonic interview.
KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF STATE WASH COORDINATOR
- Coordination with line departments to accelerate JJM activities at State and District level
- Provide technical support to State and District administration on JJM
- Netwoking and liasoning with the state government for program planning and implementation
- Participate in trainings at National, State and Districtlevel and monitor the trainings
- Managing and coordinating with Trainers for trainings and related activities
- Compile, review and finalize training reports received from Trainers
- Conduct training assessment surveys
- Follow up with concerned authorities and participants post trainings on action plans
- Support in any other work related to JJM as and when required
- Monitoring, supervision and coordination of field level team
- Coordinate for collaborations with any partner organizations and NGOs for JJM program
- Documentation and report writing
- Organize and conduct Rapid Learning Action (RAL) activities
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The following qualifications will be required from prospective interested candidate for the post of State wash consultant:
- Graduate/postgraduate degree in Rural development, MSW, Social science or equivalent
- Min. 3 Years’ experience of working in Water and Sanitation
- Relevant experience in training and capacity building, monitoring, supervision
- Strong Liasoning and networking skill and experience
- Project planning and management experience
- Team management and leadership
COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to travel, including to remote and rural areas on short notice. Thorough understanding of gender, water management, equality and non-discrimination.
- Report writing (including data collection) and communication skills
- Ability to gather, monitor and analyze the data and prioritize the action
- Facilitation skills as per participatory methodologies
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Able to produce results and work in a changing environment.
LANGUAGES:
- Strong speaking and writing skills in English and Hindi. Regional language is an asset.
REMUNERATION:
- Remuneration would be commensurate with the skill and experience of the candidate.
