Bosch Projects, a member of the multi-disciplinary Bosch Holdings group of companies, founded in 1961, has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer: Water and Sanitation. This position will be based in Durban and reporting directly to the Divisional Manager: Wastewater (KZN)
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing entire projects and project teams from project inception to completion.
- Managing project financial forecasts and reports using the company ERP system.
- Producing, maintaining and taking responsibility for engineering deliverables within a multi-disciplinary project environment.
- Perform engineering design functions efficiently in support of the project planning and/or design team.
- Mentoring and motivating project teams and especially junior staff.
- Developing and maintaining strong Client relationships.
- Ensuring that all projects are undertaken in accordance with the company QMS.
- Effectively interfacing with Clients, project managers, other discipline engineers, design draughts persons and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
The ideal Candidate should:
- Have a BSc Civil Engineering / BEng / BTech Civil Engineering qualification.
- Be registered as a Professional Engineer / Technologist with ECSA.
- Have 8 – 12 years’ post qualification experience of which at least 5 years must have been spent independently implementing and managing projects from start to finish.
- Have technical and design competence in the water and wastewater fields, with a good general knowledge of other engineering activities such as earthworks, roads, stormwater, health and safety and environmental legislation.
- Possess a broad understanding of, and have interacted with other design engineering disciplines, i.e. Process, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation and have been involved in multi-disciplinary projects.
- Have experience in engineering report writing.
- Have prior experience with the compilation of technical specifications and BOQ’s.
- Have experience in contract administration and management of GCC (2015) contracts; NEC 3/NEC 4 will be an added advantage.
- Have proven strong leadership and management skills, especially within an engineering consulting environment.
- Be experienced in the use of software (i.e. hydraulic analysis, CAD, MS Projects, Word and Excel, etc.)
- Be capable of functioning independently and as part of a project team.
- Be prepared to travel within and outside RSA borders.
