Our Surface Water Science team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Water Quality Project Officer to provide specialist expertise, research and analysis of water quality issues, and manage complex projects to enable the delivery of integrated natural resource management outcomes.
This role will specifically be focussed on delivering the NSW Water Quality Monitoring Framework, an exciting initiative for NSW, requiring exceptional stakeholder engagement and project management skills, as well as a sound understanding of the types of issues that impact water quality data management and availability in NSW.
About You
You have a passion for positive environmental outcomes, and a keen desire to make a difference through the work you do. You are a naturally comfortable communicator in a wide range of situations and have the ability to enthuse and excite your colleagues and collaborators.
Ideally, you have:
- Extensive experience in water quality monitoring and reporting programs across large scales
- Sound understanding of and commitment to open data principles
- Demonstrated successful delivery of complex collaborative projects, especially in a government context
- Broad stakeholder management experience including facilitation and administration of a diverse group of stakeholders and contributors
- Advanced communication and data visualisation capabilities
Essential Requirements
- Degree level qualifications in hydrology, environmental science, natural resource management, or a related discipline
