Fully-Funded PhD Fellowships in Data Science

Helmholtz Einstein International Berlin Research School in Data Science (HEIBRiDS)

Berlin, Germany 🇩🇪

The Max DelbrĂĽck Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in the Helmholtz Association is an international biomedical research center dedicated to understanding the molecular mechanisms of health and disease with the goal to devise new diagnostics and medicines. The MDC is a member of the Helmholtz Association, Germany’s largest scientific organization, and offers an engaging research environment with cutting-edge research infrastructure. Currently, ~1250 employees and ~500 guest scientists work at the Berlin-Buch and Berlin-Mitte campuses. Our diverse workforce is a core strength that inspires creativity and innovation at the MDC.

The MDC is committed to improving human health through transformative biomedical research. Our goal is to pioneer discoveries for preventing, treating, and ultimately curing disease.

The HEIBRiDS call for PhD applications brings together four Helmholtz Centers and four university partners, with fully-funded PhD projects in Data Science. As an interdisciplinary program, HEIBRiDS trains young scientists in Data Science applications within a broad range of natural science domains, spanning from Earth & Environment and Geosciences, to Materials & Energy and Molecular Medicine. The mission of HEIBRiDS is to educate new generations of researchers, who, as skilled data scientists, understand the demands and the challenges of the disciplines in which data science has become indispensable. The training program applies the cotutelle training principle that involves one supervisor from a Helmholtz partner and one from a university partner.
