ABOUT TEXAS WATER FOUNDATION

Texas Water Foundation (TWF) is a statewide, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to lead Texas into a secure water future. Established in 1998, its original objective was to raise public awareness among all Texans regarding the vital role water plays in our daily lives. THE ROLE OF THE TEXAS WATER LEADERS PROGRAM MANAGER

 

The Opportunity: The TWL Program Manager has the unique opportunity to grow a successful, established leadership program and its alumni network. This role continues the practical management of the program while taking initiative in setting the strategy and execution of a robust alumni engagement plan. The TWL Program Manager serves as a vital role in building a statewide network of local water leaders across fields, representing TWF in national initiatives, and developing thoughtful strategies that address water workforce challenges.

The ideal candidate is organized and hands on, comfortable with an equal blend of managing everyday program logistics and thinking broadly about impact both during program participation and beyond.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead future growth of program: creating and nurturing partnerships, growing alumni network strategy, and managing budget.
  • Create impact measurement metric of program to highlight internally within organization and externally with donors and partnerships.
  • Establish, analyze, and maintain a network of key contacts to aid in development efforts to strengthen alumni network.
  • Nurture alumni relationships: Maintain a detailed database of alumni information, including contact details, participation history, and career updates; amplify alumni members throughout the water sector; collect and share success stories, testimonials, and experiences from alumni.
  • Manage administrative tasks: annual application process including recruitment, candidate selection process, and acceptance letters; program calendar and budget; contract with program facilitators and venues.
  • Organize and coordinate professional development opportunities, workshops, and social events.
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development on grants, reporting, and key development activities. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years nonprofit program experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to collaborate effectively with a wide range of staff, partners, and vendors 
  • Experience with community and individual outreach, social media, email, and other forms of mass communication
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, enthusiastic, and hard-working
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with drive to grow and optimize a program
  • Represent TWL in national water leader groups/organizations
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong commitment to a collaborative, team-oriented organizational culture
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Texas Water Foundation
  • Commitment to professional execution of programs and integrity
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Squarespace is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $75,000 annually.  Texas Water Foundation is proud to offer opportunities for growth as well as a generous benefits package including health insurance, retirement contribution, and paid time off including maternity/paternity leave. TWF is currently working in a hybrid office environment.
