Summary:
Serve as key staff person in developing, managing, and implementing the Chickasaw Nation Natural Resources Sustainability Program. Ensures the Chickasaw Nation mission, vision, and values are communicated and integrated into the goals, objectives, work plans and products. Assist in implementing deadlines and milestones in development of sustainable water planning and policy. Works efficiently and effectively with Chickasaw Nation water policy and planning team on the development, procurement, and direction of community long-term water reliability efforts. Serves as a liaison with government agencies, public organizations, community groups, universities, and research institutes in cooperative water planning initiatives.

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
* Provides expertise in the field of groundwater and groundwater/surface water interaction hydrology for the Arbuckle Simpson Aquifer.
* Analyzes processes and creates solutions
* Serves as a resource person within the department and for administrative staff and other areas
* Serves as a liaison between leadership and internal and external delegates and employees
* Coordinates interdepartmental and intradepartmental communications
* Assists in the development and progress of goals and objectives
* Serves on and/or facilitates department meetings, conferences, committees, and/or workgroups as assigned
* Provides technical guidance to researchers and scientists at universities and other research organizations in the design, operation and reporting of research in area of expertise. Specifically, assists the Oka Institute at East Central University with development of an Environmental Management System database focused on transparency of science associated with the management of the Arbuckle Simpson Aquifer.
* Serves as a technical resource to the EPA Kerr Lab within a focused research team integrating problem solving in relation to water sustainability planning initiatives. Provides watershed and ecosystem restoration research focused on protecting human and ecosystem health
* Assist with development of water planning and policy to ensure effective implementation of the Water Settlement
* Serves as a principal contact with US EPA Kerr Lab within their ASA water research team for purposes of coordination on matters of community water sustainability policy and planning. Develops, evaluates, and uses state of the art hydrologic models to support research, risk management outcomes and restoration of watershed

* Must possess a master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university. A masters or other graduate-level degree in water, physical science, environmental, and/or natural resource field or subject technical area is required with a Ph.D. preferred. Must have at least two to three (2-3) years’ experience in the field.
