Description of Work | The Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute (DWFI) at the University of Nebraska works to address the global challenge of achieving food security with less stress on water resources through water management in agricultural and food systems.As a Temporary Program Associate, you will:Provide support to the Executive Director, Director of Policy, and other DWFI personnel to further the mission of DWFI, especially as it relates to working with different groups of stakeholders from academic, government, and private organizations, as well as other partners.Aim to understand stakeholder needs around agricultural water use and governance advancement by reviewing literature, conducting discovery interviews, analyzing and visualizing publicly available data, and synthesizing gained knowledge into outputs (e.g., presentations, infographics, blog posts) accessible to different audiences relevant to the institute.The University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks to attract and retain a high performing and diverse workforce in which employees’ differences are respected and valued to better meet the varying needs of the diverse populations we serve. Minimum Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated interest in agriculture, water, or climate change-related policy issues.Ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders in university, nonprofit, for-profit, government, and multilateral organization contexts.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to give presentations/public speaking.Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously and to work independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment.Ability and willingness to occasionally travel within the US |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s in applied economics, integrated/environmental science, law, or related field.Ability to use programming languages like R for data visualization and communication. |
