Location: Various (Based out of Warragamba Dam and Nepean Dam) 
   
Salary: Range starting from $95,764 + Super for Water Monitoring Officer

Salary: Range starting from $75,931 + Super for Water Monitoring Field Officer
   
Tenure: Permanent, Full-Time 

What you’ll do: 

  • Ensure all activities are undertaken with safety as the number one priority. 
  • Collect, process, and manage Hydrometric surface water, ground water and water quality monitoring data from a large and remote monitoring network. 
  • The assessment and dissemination of water monitoring data, development of discharge rating tables and calibration of water monitoring instrumentation.  
  • Collect water quality samples as requested by internal or external stakeholders within assigned sites and in accordance with quality guidelines and relevant procedures. 
  • Install, manage, and maintain monitoring equipment and infrastructure to prescribed standards. 
  • Report on the performance of water monitoring sites from telemetered/non-telemetered datasets and seek instrumentation advice to identify/resolve issues. 
  • Contribute to continual improvement of the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance systems, audit programs and development of work instructions and procedures.  

  

What we are looking for:  

  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma of Water Industry Operations, Science, Engineering, Asset Management, or equivalent experience in an appropriate field. 
  • Knowledge and use of various tools including battery operated tools and general tools used in the construction industry. 
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence. 
  • Strong swimming experience. 
  • A willingness to travel overnight to remote/isolated locations throughout NSW. 
  • Awareness of and interest in natural resource management, particularly water. 
  • Computer literacy and ability to interpret data, work with specialist databases and monitor network performance. 
  • Proficiency in various water industry databases and software packages, including but not limited to Hydstra, HydroTel. 
  • Desirable: Boat License (Coxswain Grade 3), row a boat/kayak, work at heights, heavy lifting, and ability in driving four-wheel drive vehicles
