Role Description
This is a Contractual (part-time) on-site role for a Hydrological Technician/ Engineer in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). We’ll depute you on one of our ADB-funded projects in Kyrgyz Republic. The position will be based in Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek Region, Kyrgyz Bsin River).
As a Hydrological Technician/Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing, managing and assisting in data preparation and processing including digitization and management of hydrometeorological data, and assisting the Team Leader.
Major Responsibilities
Major responsibilities are:
1- Prepare and implement plans for conducting collection, processing, and quality control of relevant hydrometeorological data.
2- Preparation of the relevant hydrologic model, calibration, validation, and reporting of the collected data.
3- Prepare a model for real-time work.
4- Assisting in data preparation and processing including digitization and management of hydrometeorological data.
5- Demonstrate and evaluate various hydrological models.
6- Use computer models to analyze Hydrological inputs of the recommended area.
7- Compile and analyze reports on hydro-metrological data, management aspects, and water management for proposing recommendations.
Qualifications
1- BSc in in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering is a mandatory requirement.
2- PhD qualification and prior experience in development projects will be given preference.
3- The Hydrological Technician/Engineer will have 5 years’ experience in hydrometeorology.Work experience in related computer tools, good communication skills, fluency in English/Russian, and a proven satisfactory record of similar consultancies would be preferred.
4- Must be a resident of Kyrgyz Republic.
5- Must have written and spoken knowledge of the Russian language.
6- Have experience in working on related projects by different Donor organizations.
