Posting Context Statement | The Idaho Water Resources Research Institute (IWRRI) is an institute housed at the University of Idaho with statewide responsibility for knowledge transfer, knowledge development, and networking related to Idaho’s water resources. IWRRI is the designated Idaho institute under the 1984 Water Resources Research Act and as such administers funding opportunities from the US Geological Survey associated with the national institutes of water research. The Assistant Director will be based at the University of Idaho, Coeur d’ Alene Harbor Center and will report to the IWRRI director. |
Position Overview | Idaho Water Resources Research Institute (IWRRI) is being re-imagined to become a nationally recognized research institute focused on integrated water systems. The Assistant Director of the Idaho Water Resources Research Institute (IWRRI) will be responsible to support leadership, revitalization, and expansion of the institute to lead research, outreach, engagement and Extension programs and activities in developing solutions to Idaho’s, the region’s, the nation’s and the world’s water challenges through interdisciplinary research, outreach and information transfer. Primary roles for the Assistant Director will be to support development and implementation of new plans for IWRRI to develop a useful, pertinent stakeholder network, identify opportunities for impactful research outreach, and Extension activities, support organizational capability at University of Idaho and other Idaho universities, and assist in the securing of external resources to support impactful activities by, and growth of, IWRRI. This position is a full-time staff position. |

Required Education | Master’s degree in a field related to water resources (sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, or professional degree acceptable) |
