Program details:

PSI India is implementing HCL funded project Swachh Uday program in Lucknow city in coordination with Lucknow Municipal Corporation. Through intervention in 26 wards of Lucknow, PSI India working for creating sustainable WASH environment by addressing the critical gaps in facilitating potable water, safe disposal of faecal sludge and waste segregation practices in Lucknow. PSI envisages to Improve access to potable water supply systems in the city, improve coverage of households either connected to sewer grid or Fecal Sludge Management (FSM) value chain in the city and Increase segregation of waste (dry and wet) at household level as per SBM norms.

Purpose of the Position:

Volunteer – Water and Sanitation Counsellors will conduct assessment of the communities and conduct BCC activities in the communities to mobilise Community and ensure community participation. Volunteers will conduct BCC with the community members, which is the key component for the program implementation to improve the access to potable water, improve the services of FSM value chain and increase the source segregation of waste at the households.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts detailed assessment of the wards to gain deeper knowledge of the current situation of the Water and Sanitation in the wards.
  2. Conduct IPC activity in communities.
  3. Conduct community meetings.
  4. Work closely with local government representative at the wards and integrate the program efforts with the LMC efforts.
  5. Identify opportunity to organize events for greater visibility in the wards.
  6. Engage with the stake holders in the wards, identify the strategies at the local level to improve the water and sanitation situation in the wards.
  7. Documentation and reporting as required.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate with 0-2 year of relevant experience in the same field.

General Manager – Program Implementation.

  • On the completion of working days as per the timelines
  • On submission of the work details on completion
