In the role of Senior Water Officer, you will utilise your experience and knowledge and play a pivotal role to support efficient and sustainable management of Queensland’s water resources:
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with leading the development of water plans, supporting instruments and other water planning documents in line with Queensland Water Act 2000 requirements.
• Liaise with and coordinate technical experts from various disciplines to inform development of water plans.
• Lead desktop research, data collection, interpretation and analysis to inform the assessment of a range of water management and policy issues.
• Assist with leading consultation with internal and external clients.
• Lead and coordinate preparation of policy papers, briefing notes, Cabinet submissions, Governor -in-Council documentation, and other correspondence as required.
• Contribute to analysis and interpretation of existing National and State Government strategies, policies and legislation in relation to efficient and sustainable management of Queensland’s water resources.
• Help cultivate a positive team culture by supporting team members and sharing information.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
