The Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA) is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to promoting effective water management (www.cwra.org). We have been active in the Canadian water community for over 75 years, and we are in an exciting period of developing new capabilities and member resources.
Position Description: This position is a full time permanent position to manage our internal and external communications, including social media, primary website and affiliate microsites, publications, and research. As Manager, you will also work closely with the Executive Director to support CWRA’s operational needs and strategic goals. You will work with CWRA contractors, CWRA members and volunteers, and the broad water resources community in Canada to build awareness of CWRA and its programs and projects, while building our community, and keeping communications fresh and current. You must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines while being responsive and connected with the team.
Hours: 40 hours a week with some flexibility and occasional pre-scheduled availability for webinars and weekend meetings and semi-annual travel to conferences. Because this is a national organization, we work across Canadian time zones.
Start Date/Contract Timeline: As soon as possible – no later than August 6, 2024.
Work Location: Remote (in Canada).
Salary: $33/hour

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A post-secondary diploma or degree and two or more years experience working in a managerial role in a non-profit or non-governmental organization in Canada. Experience in an environmental organization is a plus.
- Two or more years experience working with a Board of Directors in Canada.
- Excellent professional communication skills, including professional email and phone demeanor.
- Strong working knowledge of non-profit financial and organizational guidelines and regulations.
- Access to home office with computer (including file backup system and video call capability), telephone/cell phone, and high-speed internet.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook) and other relevant software (e.g., social media platforms, graphic design, content creation, member management, etc.)
- Experience using WordPress to maintain a website.
- Demonstrated experience with social media communications and newsletter services (e.g. Mailchimp).
- Demonstrated experience supporting event planning.
- Demonstrated experience planning, implementing, and leading multiple ongoing projects.
- Willingness and ability to master new skills through independent study and research.
- Ability to speak and write in both official languages (French and English) is considered a strong asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and update process and procedure documentation for organizational operations.
- Provide support to the Executive Director and CWRA subsidiaries to meet communication goals.
- Understand and use digital tools to support the management of the CWRA website through the WordPress interface, including website content and layout.
- Identify opportunities to promote and support CWRA activities, projects, and initiatives.
- Monitor info@cwra.org and respond to general enquiries or redirect to other staff.
- Provide Membership support services.
- Develop analytics and reporting documents to support staff work and the National Strategic Directions.
- Provide planning, organizational, technical, and registration support for events (including webinars) across CWRA.
- Support the National Board and their committees with scheduling, documentation, and other planning activities.
- Manage student and intern project work.
- Complete other related tasks as required.

- Background in water resources or environmental management.
