Task Description:
As part of the WSCA GCP implementation team, you will be expected to:
- Be a key member of the IFC regional water team, actively participating in internal and external meetings, business development efforts, knowledge sharing initiatives, coordination activities within the World Bank Group, support to specific IFC transactions, etc. by providing valuable input and/or leading specific work streams.
- Participate in the definition of the IFC strategic road map for the water sector in the region across (i) priority countries and sub-sectors of interventions, (ii) investment approach and products selection, (iii) current pipeline of investment projects and opportunities for pipeline expansion and, (iv) integration with IBRD/IDA and MIGA engagements in the sector.
- Contribute to the institutional and operational efforts for IFC investment pipeline expansion and conversion by engaging with governments and public water utilities as well as engaging with private players active in the water sector and assisting in the development of new initiatives that combine public and private sector operations, in collaboration with cross-cutting team within the World Bank Group.
- Ensure coordination among internal stakeholders and in particular actively engage with IBRD/IDA and MIGA in the definition and/or implementation of regional water related initiatives (Water Sector Assessment Programs (Water SAP), Multiphase Programmatic Approach (MPA), Joint Implementation Plans (JIP), Guarantee platforms, etc.) as to ensure alignment of these initiatives with the IFC strategic road map for water sector in the region.
- Promote knowledge building and sharing within the institution by staying updated on relevant industry developments, policies and regulations, sharing insights and knowledge with the team as well as by conducting benchmarking analysis to identify best practices and industry trends, contributing to the development of innovative strategies.
- Conduct project management and communication support activities such as:
- Assist in the preparation of reports, memos, and other deliverables, ensuring high-quality and timely completion.
- Prepare and draft slides for presentations, incorporating relevant data and information.
- Provide support in logistics and communication, ensuring smooth coordination and efficient workflow within the team, this may involve organizing workshops and roundtables to identify opportunities and develop action plans for implementation.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, project management skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
