Job Overview:
Full time, professional researcher position on funded projects assessing soil and water quality in agricultural watersheds associated with management practices including cover crops, tillage, and WASCOBs. This is a 12 month grant-funded position and could be extended dependent upon funding availability and workload needs.
Duties:
Independent field and laboratory work with soil, water quality, vegetation, and hydrologic measurements and analysis. Assisting other researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students with field and laboratory research. Equipment maintenance, database management, statistical analysis, report writing, professional presentation preparation and delivery, and assist with manuscript preparation. Supervision of graduate students and undergraduate students, as required. The position requires field work in all weather conditions; must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Skills:
Experience in soil sampling, soil quality characterization, water quality monitoring, soil and water laboratory analyses, and hydrologic assessments.
Qualifications:
M.S. degree in Forestry, Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline by date of hire;
A valid driver’s license by date of hire.
