POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Communications Coordinator supports all aspects of our cross-disciplinary, nimble, and creative Strategic Communications team. We’re looking for a strong writer, strategic thinker, quick learner and technical champion to contribute to our team’s work in raising awareness on the global water and sanitation crisis—and how Water For People is making a difference. The success of this role depends on someone who is deeply curious and willing to tackle any project with a can-do attitude, leading with humility and clarity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
- Support the Strategic Communication Team—Internal, External, Global, or Design sub-teams—in the development and implementation of Water For People communications strategies.
- Implement the Strategic Communications social media strategies for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, adapting content as needed and/or developing new content. Track performance and audience demographics on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Provide front-line response to inquiries and requests across all social media channels and HQ email and traffic them to the appropriate departments. Monitor and coordinate responses to public and private messages.
- Support day-to-day management of the Water For People website, including the publication of regular, relevant, and attractive content, available in Spanish and English. Suggest improvements to user experience, including accessibility, responsiveness, and SEO.
- Manage Strategic Communications Team projects and vendors to ensure high-quality outputs are delivered within the agreed-upon schedule. Coordinate expenses and assist in budget tracking for alignment and accuracy.
- Coordinate organization’s content management systems, which can include organizing, tagging, and serving as the resource for photo asset needs and requests.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 3 years of relevant professional experience in communications or related field.
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish languages is required
- A strong writer, editor and communicator with the ability to adapt other written or visual content for a variety of needs.  
- Experience working within and adhering to brand identity guidelines.
- Experience managing social media and digital platforms.
- In-depth understanding of content management and communication tools. 
- A quick learner willing to become proficient in a variety of digital platforms like WordPress, Asana, Canva, Muck Rack/Cision, Microsoft Office. 
- Strong intercultural communication skills and experience working in different environments, languages and/or across time zones.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with a flexible, problem-solving approach to tasks.
- Strong organization and task management skills with the ability to work independently. Self-motivation is key.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Remote work opportunity, or the option to work from an office if conveniently located near one of our offices.
- This position is based in any country in the Latin American region: Bolivia, Guatemala, Honduras or Peru, and in the USA for internal candidates.
- You must be a citizen or legally authorized to work in one of these countries to be considered for this position
- Ability to work outside regular business hours to meet with personnel located in other time zones.

Salary Range:
US anticipated salary range: $42,300 – 53,700 USD. (If based outside the US an equivalent country market – based salary will be determined)
The actual salary will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors.
