Offer Description
The appointed research associate will work on developing innovative techniques within the LISFLOOD-FP model, aiming to make it more suitable for modeling coastal flooding. Specifically, methodologies will be explored to better account for the contribution of waves, and to parameterize the erosion and collapse of artificial dunes. The development will be tested and validated on known cases of flooding along the Adriatic Sea coasts, for which observational flood maps are available. The refined model will subsequently be driven by meteorological-oceanographic data produced as part of the AdriaClimPlus project, with the aim of investigating the effect of climate changes on coastal flooding.
