WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Provide Food and Water Global Business Unit is critical to the success of TNC’s mission. It is responsible for driving change and scaling solutions in the agriculture, fisheries, and water supply sectors to create better outcomes for biodiversity, climate, and people. Within the business unit resides the Global Large Scale Fisheries conservation strategy, a body of conservation work focused on engaging industry, government, and local partners to advance the application of electronic monitoring to improve fisheries transparency and enhance ecological and socio-economic resilience across industrial fisheries.

The Program Coordinator is essential in helping the strategy meet its global objectives by providing administrative, operational, and project management support. This position will assist the Director of Large-Scale Fisheries strategy with administrative tasks, such as calendar management, expense reporting, and timesheet submissions. They will contribute to event planning, such as managing logistics, designing the agenda, and/or facilitate meetings. They will ensure financial sustainability of the program by supporting purchasing, processing invoices, contracting with vendors, and assisting with budget preparation and reporting. The duties of the role require working flexible hours as needed to engage across international programs and time zones, the ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, as well as the openness to work occasional weekends and evenings. This position will report to the Large-Scale Fisheries Associate Director. This full-time, remote position is based anywhere where The Nature Conservancy can do business and where the candidate can work during the US Mountain Time Zone.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU

The Large-Scale Fisheries Program Coordinator uses available systems and resources to maintain, track, and research data and may produce and review written or data-driven reports as requested for internal or external audiences. They provides guidance in satisfying administrative requirements based on extensive knowledge of policies and procedures. They will develop and implement processes and practices to improve effectiveness. They will coordinate activities with multiple variables, set realistic deadlines, and manage the timeline. They will communicate on behalf of the Directors with staff in various programs across the Conservancy and with donors, vendors, and business relations. They will effectively communicate or distribute information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow. They will perform administrative functions for the program as directed and may be asked to support special projects. The ideal candidate for this position is results driven, detailed oriented, and values collaboration. They are excited about working for nature and driving forward solutions for conserving the lands and waters for which life depends.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience generating reports and interpreting data.
  • Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working across teams and communicating with a wide range of people.
  • Experience supporting or co-leading and co-managing complex projects and strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment with a senior-level manager within the Conservancy or a comparable organization.                       
  • Analytical and project management experience.
  • Experience developing end products with software such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and cloud, as well as web-based tools like Smartsheet.
  • Fluency in English

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated.
  • Knowledge of politics and society with respect to environmental and international affairs.
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in new conservation strategies, economic drivers, management tools, and global affairs.
  • Strong team player who can build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization, including with senior management and with the Conservancy partners.

SALARY INFORMATION

This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position in Denver, Colorado is generally within the range of $59,500 – $65,790 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. For all other applicants, pay ranges will be in local currency, the pay range will be based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally, for all applicants, actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including, for example, the candidate’s qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
