About the Opportunity

 To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we currently have an opportunity for a Senior Nature Based Solutions Water Specialist to join our Water Catchment Management team in the UK. You will be joining an experienced team of water specialists and ecologists who support projects to characterise, assess, enhance, restore and create habitats. Your responsibilities will include: – Developing hydro-ecological Conceptual Site Models (CSMs) and water balance assessments to support feasibility assessments as well as detailed design wetland solutions – Providing specialist hydro-ecology technical expertise to deliver innovative and high standard solutions on wetland characterisation, assessment, enhancement, restoration and habitat creation – Leading on wetland technical project deliveries, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery within budget. – Supporting in liaison with contractors and regulators. – Field based work including hydrological-hydrogeological wetland surveys and monitoring, including training of juniors to undertake these surveys. – Supporting experienced project managers whilst working and/or leading as part of a multi-disciplinary wetland team – Checking and reviewing technical reports. – Presenting information at meetings in a concise and effective manner.

Here’s what you’ll need

– A minimum of a good honours degree in earth sciences and a master’s degree or doctorate in hydrogeology, hydrology, hydro-ecology, water resources management or environmental engineering or equivalent experience 

– Good knowledge / experience of wetland characterisation and typology 

– The ability to analyse information about water level, flow and quality data in relation to wetlands and to present this logically and accurately in reports or verbal presentations. 

– Experience of enhancing, restoring, and creating a variety of wetland habitat types for a range of environmental drivers (carbon sequestration, flood risk management, biodiversity net gain, etc). 

– Leading on scoping, supporting and interpreting ground investigations to adequately characterise wetlands.
