Our Local Water Utility (LWU) branch within the Water Group is currently seeking to appoint a Principal Data Analyst (Water) to provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for existing and new database systems and applications, data mapping and migration services supporting performance and compliance monitoring and reporting and policy analysis on water utilities in regional NSW.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leading the continuous development and robust operation of a complex data collection portal and database for LWU performance data and ensure information products and analytical tools reflect the needs of customers, regulated entities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify, design, establish and maintain existing and new database applications and platforms, predominantly Oracle APEX Platform, SQL and MS Access, and new business intelligence/analytical tools, working closely with the DPE IT to leverage internal expertise and integrate technology systems and services.

Key Challenges

  • Ensuring accurate and timely data capture and effectiveness of data validation, quality control and analytical processes.
  • Identify stakeholders and their business needs and develop business cases which define potential benefits, options or solutions for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks.
