This Proposal Opportunity:
The position will be on the upcoming Pakistan Climate Resilient Water Governance Activity, a four-year USAID-funded activity to promote participatory water governance and management systems in Pakistan to mitigate extreme weather events exacerbated by climate change.
This position is contingent upon program award and USAID approval.
Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Palladium is seeking subject matter experts in water governance, climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and related-policy governance related to technical implementation with experience in the following areas:
- Waters resource management/governance.
- Climate change adaptation, resilience planning, and risk management.
- Climate smart agriculture practices.
- Disaster risk reduction.
Key Competencies Required:
- Degree in climate change studies/science, water resources management, disaster risk management, economics, international development, or other closely related field relevant to the role; master’s/advanced degree preferred.
- At least seven years’ experience in the implementation of similar sized USAID or other donor- supported programs in
- Pakistan or similar context; 10 years’ experience for senior positions preferred.
- Strong track record in water governance and/or climate resilient development programs in Pakistan or similar context
- Proven ability to develop and communicate a common vision among diverse partners and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Evidence of strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written, to fulfil the diverse technical and managerial requirements of the contract.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Urdu are required. Proficiency in Pashto preferred.
