Job Description | The Syracuse University Center for Sustainable Community Solutions (CSCS) is seeking a temporary Project Assistant to support program outreach, in-person and virtual event delivery, educational and social media content development, and program tracking/monitoring. The assistant will work across multiple sponsored projects that provide water workforce development training, water policy research, and technical assistance to water sector stakeholders including municipal staff, utility managers, and industry representatives. The project assistant will participate in strategic efforts to coordinate outreach, develop web content, and manage social media strategies across the Center for Sustainable Community Solutions and Environmental Finance Center. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong writing skills, communication skills, and attention to detail. |
Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.Experience with water infrastructure topics, including policy, state and federal programs, and understanding of water sector stakeholders is a bonus. |
Job Specific Qualifications | Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging content for various communication channels.Knowledge of digital marketing principles and best practices.Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all communications.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure. |
Responsibilities | Virtual and in-person event support:Provide logistical support during SU-EFC’s webinar trainings.Coordinate meetings between speakers, project partners, and EFC/CSCS staff.Create and monitor event registration.Correspond with registrants and attendees before and after training events.Develop and distribute certificates of attendance.Assist in coordinating, attending, and exhibiting at industry and community events, conferences, and trade shows.Marketing:Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote products, services, and events.Assist in creating marketing collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and presentations.Monitor and maintain email subscriber lists and contact forms.Provide copy-editing support for email and print marketing materialsProject coordination and tracking:Attend bi-weekly communications meetings with CSCS/EFC staff.Input event details and participant information into established project management platforms, keeping program-related files organized and up-to-date.Working with CSCS/EFC managers, support grant reporting efforts by organizing program attendance, engagement, and evaluation metrics, including event feedback and evaluation data.Educational content development:Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.Collaborate with CSCS/EFC staff on educational content development in web, digital, and print formats.Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and inquiries, and manage online communities.Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations.Other duties as assigned. |
