This role is part of a small, dynamic team in DEECA’s Water and Catchments Group (WCG), supporting the oversight and development of legislation and regulations to enable effective implementation of Victoria’s strategic water agenda.

The position interfaces with DEECA’s Legal and Legislation Division and other water sector stakeholders to ensure a consistent and agreed approach on legislative and regulatory policy positions. The role also provides input and support to other strategic projects delivered by the WCG Strategy & Coordination team.

To be successful in this role the applicant will have experience in a complex policy environment, preferably regulatory or government, and demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and/or legislative subject matter into practical, client focused policy documents. Strong time management, written communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Laws.
  • An appropriate qualification in public policy or equivalent experience would be desirable.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
