About the CAGRD Division
The Central Arizona Groundwater Replenishment District (CAGRD) manages the groundwater replenishment authorities of the Central Arizona Water Conservation District. Primarily, the CAGRD is responsible for replenishing (or recharging) in each Active Management Area (AMA) the amount of groundwater pumped by or delivered to its members in that AMA which exceeds the pumping limitations imposed by the State’s Assured Water Supply Rules.
Fulfilling this obligation requires the department staff to perform a large number of specialized duties from coordinating membership enrollment of individual parcels, managing the annual water use reporting process, and managing the collection of annual replenishment assessments and taxes, to securing water supplies and coordinating replenishment activities.
About this Position
The CAGRD team is comprised of nine dedicated full-time employees: CAGRD Manager, CAGRD Supervisor, three Analysts, and four Specialists. As one of the CAGRD Specialists on this team, you would be responsible for SOME of the following team functions:
- Coordinating and implementing the CAGRD annual reporting processes and procedures
- Coordinating the membership enrollment process
- Assisting in the conservation program
- Coordinating the fee collection process
- Coordinating the annual replenishment activities
- Maintaining the CAGRD website content
- Administering contracts and agreements
- Maintaining database
About the Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- At least three (3) years of experience performing technical/research work
- An associate’s degree; OR high school diploma/GED plus two additional years of related work experience
- Ability to read and interpret complex documents including engineering, business, and legal documents
- Excellent customer service and professional interpersonal relationship skills
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel
- Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking
- (Preferred) Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS (ARC Pro) software
- (Preferred) Experience reading and understanding property legal descriptions including the metes and bounds
- (Preferred) Experience using Microsoft Access
