Offer Description
The post-doc will focus his/her scientific activity on the optimization of a surface analytical method based on XPS and XAES aiming to the identification and quantification of toxic elements as As, Pb, Cd, Ni that should be removed from waste-waters exploiting surface fuctionalized marble waste as sorbents. The post-doc will modify with inorganic and organic compounds the carbonates’ surfaces. The surfaces will be characterized by XPS and XAES before and after the surface functionalization. Efficiency of removal will be investigated using a single element in the model solution and then the effect of competing anions and cations will be scrutinized. LoD and LoQ will be measured for various marble wastes and for different tailored surfaces.
