ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Engineer 4 within the Division of Engineering, located at 2045 Morse Road, Columbus, OH 43229 in Franklin County. What you will do…
- Serves as a staff specialist & subject matter expert on wetland design and engineering related to H2Ohio projects statewide.
- Reviews design & construction plans, provides comments and recommendations that lead to optimization of nutrient reduction and water quality benefits associated with project design & implementation. Identifies design guidelines and specifications that may lead to more efficient and effective projects. Visits to construction sites and completed projects to ensure that projects will perform as designed and expected.
- Performs feasibility analysis & planning support for potential projects, identifies potential improvements related to location and orientation of projects to ensure the most benefit to the receiving watershed.
- Engages in program outreach & meetings to ensure that necessary resources are being provided to H2Ohio program partners and participants.
Starting hourly pay of $39.27/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service and an ending salary of $56.10/hr.

Qualifications
Certificate of registration as professional engineer issued by State Licensing Board AND 2 yrs. exp. as registered professional engineer of which 12 mos. was as Natural Resources Engineer 3, 85743 or 12 mos. equivalent related engineering experience.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.
