About WaterAid India:
Jal Seva Charitable Foundation (JSCF) is registered in India as a not-for-profit company under Chapter 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. JSCF, is an associate member of WaterAid International and uses the brand name ‘WaterAid’ in India.
JSCF or WaterAid India (WAI) seeks to improve access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene foreveryone, everywhere. Our work is focused on the following themes:
- Safe, assured drinking water at a household level.
- Safely managed sanitation.
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Institutions (Anganwadis, Schools and Health Care Facilities).
- Hygiene education and Behaviour Change.
WAI country office is based in New Delhi with State Offices in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Raipur and Patna. We currently work in 11+ states across the country. Being a direct implementing agency, we have our district and block level teams located close to our intervention villages.

Roles & Responsibility:
Project Coordination and implementation
- Lead and manage teams to ensure all deliverables of the project are met effectively within the desired timeline and with excellent quality.
- Establish and manage working relation with diverse set of stakeholders – Municipal Corporation, different government departments – especially health, education and women and child development.
- Conceptualize, design and execute baseline and end line assessments during the project cycle.
- Lead and oversee the team for conceptualization and execution of training programmes, campaigns, etc.as required under the projects.
- Tracking and managing of project budgets to ensure efficient implementation.
- Provide guidance and supervise field team which includes periodic visits to the field.
- Take lead in conceptualizing and implementing consultations /workshops / conferences as required in the project.
- Ensure quality monitoring and compliance with standards of all project activities undertaken especially WASH infrastructure.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the State Programme Director.
Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare high quality donor reports, documentation of the work being undertaken.
- Be part of project communication and monitoring visits of donors, WaterAid team and other stakeholders.
- Ensure effective reporting and documentation of the work being implemented and facilitate collection of information for case study, good practices etc.
- Ensure proper updating of project activities, outputs and outcomes in the Management Information System (MIS) of the organization.
Team management:
- Coordinate with field team and ensure all deliverables of the project are met effectively within the desired timeline and with excellent quality.
- Ensure effective tracking of team’s performance and provide constant feedback and support
- where necessary.
- Plan and ensure periodic capacity building of team as per requirement.
Eligibilities and requirements Education:
- Post-graduation (or equivalent) qualification in one of the following areas: social sciences, civil engineering, international development, economics, water/natural resource management, environment, social policy; additional qualification in water, sanitation, hygiene education will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Between 4-5 years of relevant work experience in community level work in development sector.
- Experience of working on urban context on the themes of Water, sanitation and WASH in institutions will be an added advantage.
Other specifications:
- Experience of managing teams working on social development issues
- Experience in coordinating with district administration and municipal bodies
- Knowledge of MS office is essential.
- Experience in coordinating with local administration
- Exceptional communications and presentation skills, both written and oral in Kannada and English is essential.
- A self-starter, able to work independently
- Ability to travel in the field extensively
