Objective and Purpose of the Assignment

The coordinator will support the implementation of TA9977-REG (Developing the Central Asia Regional
Economic Cooperation (CAREC) – Water Pillar) and regional events to be organized under this TA. The TA
coordinator will work under supervision of team leader of TA9977 and will liaise with relevant ADB
staff, the CAREC secretariat, other TA consultants, ADB resident missions and relevant external
counterparts.

Scope of Work

The coordinator will support the implementation of TA9977-REG (Developing the Central Asia Regional
Economic Cooperation (CAREC) – Water Pillar) and regional events to be organized under this TA. The TA
coordinator will work under supervision of team leader of TA9977 and will liaise with relevant ADB
staff, the CAREC secretariat, other TA consultants, ADB resident missions and relevant external
counterparts.

Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output

i. Lead logistical arrangements of regional and/or national meetings and/or knowledge event(s) organized
under TA9977-REG. Logistical arrangements include, but not limited to, booking venue for the event;
booking international and domestic tickets; arranging for simultaneous interpretation; drawing contracts
with service providers; arranging meals and coffee breaks; handling all visa matters; arranging for
photography and videography; printing of documents; generating and sharing links for zoom or MS teams
meeting; and responding to participants’ inquiries. The incumbent shall retain record of all financial
expenditures related to logistical matters and share financial documents and invoices with ADB staff.
ii. Assist in drafting agenda, proceedings, and records of workshops and meetings held under TA9977.
iii. Support the ADB team to prepare relevant correspondences, communications, presentations, regular &
ad-hoc reports, and other documents, as needed.
iv. Support coordination among stakeholders, the TA consultants, resident missions, and ADB TA team for
day-to-day TA activities.
v. In coordination with relevant TA team leader and relevant ADB staff, support communicating with CAREC
country focals for preparation of necessary documents required for CAREC conferences (senior officials
meeting, national focal points’ meeting, and ministerial conference) and other events, as needed.
vi. In coordination with TA team leader and relevant ADB staff, obtain necessary clearances for national
meetings and regional consultations.
vii. Maintain library of TA documents and reference materials.
viii. Other tasks as may be assigned by the TA team leader, from time to time.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

The consultant must have:
i. At least bachelor’s degree in environment, water resources, agriculture, international development,
or other related field.
ii. At least 5 years of working experience in international development including working with
international organizations, NGOs, academia, and bilateral and multilateral agencies.
iii. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, powerpoint, outlook, etc.) and
computer skills required for running virtual platforms such as Zoom, Teams, or equivalent.
iv. Excellent oral and written communication in English. For international TA coordinator, knowledge of
other languages in CAREC region will be advantageous.

Minimum General Experience: 7 Years
Minimum Specific Experience (relevant to assignment): 5 Years
