Main duties and responsibilities
- Conducting high-level international and national interdisciplinary R&D work in the field of water management, conducting teaching in MSc level
- Supervising BSc, MSc, PhD students
- Organisational-administrative work in accordance with job descriptions of the academic staff members (No 1-28/7 from 27.02.2020, updated 18.02.2021 No 1-28/1, referring to the appendix 2)
- Integration of data analysis, simulation modelling, optimization, artificial intelligence, and information technologies for water management
- Development of internationally competitive work group
- Developing innovative digital tools
- Publishing R&D work in high level international journals
- Actively applying of research projects
- Developing collaboration with R&D and local institutions (public and private)
Minimum qualification
- PhD or an equal degree in the field of hydroinformatics, water sciences (engineering), civil or environmental engineering with an orientation to water related problems
- High scientific and administrative competence for conducting and leading research and teaching
- Internationally acknowledged scientific work in water management or similar fields of research, which minimum quantity equals to two PhD thesis requirement
- Experience lecturing at the MSc level and supervision of PhD and MSc thesis research
- Active and successful R&D work in water management and similar fields
- Active R&D work with water sector companies
- Active popular scientific work
- Venia legendi, if not previously submitted
- High skills in collaboration and communication
- Highly experienced in hydrological modelling of urban and river catchments in various scales
- Experience in climate modelling
- Excellent command of the Estonian and English language
