Urban Water

The Urban Water programme designs pathways towards water secure and flood resistant urbanscapes. We do this by enabling effective decision making, and building coalitions between governments, market players and communities. By 2035, we will enable the transformation of 10 urban spaces in India to become water resilient.

For this purpose, we are looking to hire a senior project manager who will anchor/support the design of hypotheses, carry out field research, analyse the data and formulate insights across thematic areas in towns and metros.

Responsibilities

Team

1. Building a team with the right set of methodologies/tools/skills
2. Managing a team of around two to five Level 1/2/3/4 employees (hiring, creating scope and monthly plans, letting go when not performing)
3. Being responsible for planning and ensuring complete delivery of an entire project.

Thought Leadership

1. Developing an understanding of the current literature and developments in the field of urban water management.
2. Displaying ability to think and conceptualise new ideas independently.
3. Strategically attending workshops and conferences in India and abroad representing the team and organisation.

Impact Delivery

1. Contributing to the strategy for reaching outcomes
2. Setting and executing monthly goals in line with OKRs for themselves and the team
3. Conceiving, designing and managing implementation of at least one project independently of at least ₹50 Lakhs/Year from start to finish

Partner Engagement

1. Building and managing relationships with key stakeholders in the water and wastewater space
2. Liaisoning with government officials in the water sector
3. Designing and curating workshops to align key stakeholders behind a shared vision

Qualifications and Skills

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental or Social Sciences, Public Policy, Urban/ Environmental Planning, or a related field with 8-10 years of experience
2. Experience of working with the government on development projects or policymaking
   2. Knowledge of urban water issues and the latest developments in the sector
   3. Good written and verbal communication skills
   4. Being a self-motivated, well-organised team player with a go-getter attitude is a huge advantage
