Position Details

The Senior Manager, Water Monitoring and Data will lead a team of nine to oversee whole of life-cycle for several major water monitoring and information technology contracts, with a total contract value of $85 million. The water monitoring contracts involve outsourcing the collection of state-wide water monitoring data for both surface water and groundwater. This data collection plays a major role in emergency flood management. The position oversees the publishing water monitoring data online (much of it in real time) and lead the development of innovative solutions to transform data into information.

The position also oversees the management of Murray Darling Basin Plan water quality policy and deliverables. The position will work as a member of a team to contribute to the engagement of the Regional Water Monitoring Partnership (RWMP). The RWMP is where 45 external Agencies come together to share the cost of monitoring.

The role requires a strong ability to work as a member of a diverse and technical team, requiring considerable stakeholder management and project and budget management skills.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Degree in science/ environmental management or similar is highly desirable.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
