Journal of Hydroinformatics is looking for Associate Editors to add to their team of internationally-renowned subject experts.
Journal of Hydroinformatics brings together highly interdisciplinary research that promotes the fundamental understanding and technology developments of the water cycle in natural system and the built environment in a digital era under uncertainty of global changes. The journal is Open Access and authors do not need to pay Article Processing Charges thanks to the support of universities, institutions and individuals who have contributed towards Subscribe to Open. The Associate Editors use our online peer-review system, Editorial Manager, to progress submissions by selecting reviewers and informing authors of editorial and publishing decisions. In addition, they contribute to policy decisions regarding the future direction of the journal, help acquire new material, encourage high-quality submissions, and champion the journal at events and on social media. Associate Editors are appointed for an initial term of 3 years.
Applicants should have:
- An interest in developments with an international scope
- Great organisation, time management and communication skills
- A dedication to the role of Associate Editor and the time commitment it entails
- An active research profile, and an established record of work and scholarship in relevant scientific field(s)
- Expertise in the following fields are particularly sought:
- Remote sensing for hydro-environmental system
- Integrated sensors, sensor networks and communication for water resources enhancement, erosion control, flood assessment, and water quality
- Model and sensor fusion technology
- Intelligent control technologies for smart water, wastewater, and stormwater system
- AI-based cloud computing for smart water, wastewater, and stormwater system
- Integration between GeoAI and hydrological models for spatial analysis
- Other relevant skillsets to support the development of next generation hydroinformatics
Other qualities that are desirable:
- Existing editorial experience, particularly with online peer-review systems
- A strong international network of colleagues who can contribute to the journal as readers, reviewers and authors
- Previous service and contribution to Journal of Hydroinformatics, i.e. being an author or reviewer
- Membership to the International Water Association (IWA) or institutional awards
