What we need you to do:
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to join our team as a ground water specialist with
the Division of Drinking and Ground Waters (DDAGW) at our Central Office in Franklin County.

As a ground water specialist, you’ll use your hydrogeological expertise to create ground water flow
models and train and assist DDAGW staff with developing models for source water assessments. You’ll
apply your hydrogeological and ground water flow modeling expertise to evaluate water reuse
proposals.
You’ll research, review, and participate in DDAGW’s water reuse planning, including evaluating aquifer
storage and recovery and managed aquifer recharge solutions. Additionally, you’ll research and assist
with source water sustainability and future water use planning for public water systems.
To ensure protection of area ground water resources, you’ll evaluate Class V injection well applications
and conduct field inspections of well sites. You’ll create and update technical guidance, fact sheets, and
other educational materials related to ground water flow modeling and assist public water systems, local
and state officials, and facility owners on water reuse and Class V wells.

• Use modeling expertise when evaluating water reuse proposals.
• Research, review, and participate in DDAGW’s water reuse planning.
• Review hydrogeologic reports, permit applications, design plans, well abandonment plans and
monitoring programs for UIC Class V injection wells.
• Create and provide subject technical resources and outreach to industry professionals and local
and state officials.

Qualifications
4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in position involving geology or hydrology, engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science &/or other comparable physical or health science field, earth science &/or urban & regional planning, &/or mathematics.
