Amazon Web Services (AWS) internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks during summer. By applying to this position, your application will be considered for an in-person Seattle, WA internship.

As you launch your career as a Water Business Analyst Intern at AWS, you will focus on improving the success within a business function by analyzing data, assessing water challenges in our data centers, and developing metrics to accelerate decision making.

We are looking for motivated, self-starters that can work in a fast paced, data-driven environment. The successful candidate will be an analytical problem solver, have a passion for process improvement, and be motived to help AWS become water positive by 2030. We are focused on your success and want to build future leaders within Amazon. This is an opportunity to work with thought leaders in sustainable water use and water stewardship in the data center industry. You can expect a mixture of on-the-job training supplemented with focused skills development and formalized training.

Responsibilities may include:
• Enabling effective water strategy decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible format.
• Identifying process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring existing metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teams.
• Designing and developing automated reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make informed decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with a graduation conferral date between December 2024 and September 2025.
– Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL (all join types, group by, pivot, calculated columns).
– Relevant experience with water resources, water technology, water data analysis, or sustainability which could include previous internships, course work, school projects, research, conference participation, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Basic to intermediate knowledge of Tableau.
– Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., vlookup, write/edit VBA).
– Exceptional written and verbal communication.
– Ability to break down and solve complex problems in a high-energy, fast paced environment.
– Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business, or related fields.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
