NEIWPCC and the Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) are seeking an intern to assist with administrative efforts associated with clean water, ecosystem health, and community outreach initiatives. This intern will gain experience in grant and project management processes and procedures that support environmental programming aimed at preserving and advancing water quality in the Lake Champlain basin.
What You Will Do
You will work alongside full-time staff to support data entry of new and existing projects into a grant management system. This will include processing agreement requests, tracking agreement progress, and archiving documentation. You will lead the effort to help standardize and update the grant management process.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least two years toward a bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration or related major. Practical experience in business management, information technology or accounting is preferred. A strong attention to detail, organization, and time management capabilities are needed. Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat is essential. Candidates with alternative qualifications or who have taken a less traditional career path may be considered if an aptitude for success and a strong willingness to learn is clearly apparent.
Logistics
This internship is based out of the LCBP’s office in Grand Isle, VT. The intern will be expected to work 15-20 hours per week, and the position is expected to begin in January and extend through August, with some flexibility. This position is not eligible for telework. A valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation is required. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
Pay
Hourly pay range is anticipated to be $15-19, dependent on experience and qualifications.
