At the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Chair of Water Management, we are filling the following position at the earliest possible date on a temporary basis for the duration of the project ending “Energie aus Abwasser”:
Research Assistant (m/f/d)
EG 13 TV-L, full-time employment, 40 hours/week, limited, project position
Tasks and Responsibilities
- independent work on a research project on an enhanced anaerobic digestion of excess sludge in WWTP and subsequent treatment processes (P-recovey, dewatering)
- operation, optimization of the digestion process in pilot scale
- design, test, optimization of subsequent P-recovery and dewatering processes
- close cooperation with the SME’s and WWTP operators
- reporting to the partners and the funding organisation
- scientific publication of the results (journals, conferences)
- the position is suitable for dissertation
Requirements
- completed university studies (state examination, diploma, master’s degree or comparable degree)
- in waste/water management, environmental/chemical/biological process engineering, environmental technology or similar with at least a good degree
- knowledge of physical/chemical laboratory analysis of organic residues, waste water etc.
- initial experience in planning, conducting and evaluating process engineering experiments,
- ideally in anaerobic digestion of organic residues, wastewater treatment, P-recovery, phase separation
- minimum physical aptitude for working several hours in the laboratory
- good command of written and spoken English, communication skills in German
- self-employed and structured working style, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work in a team
- willingness for own scientific qualification and publication
