We invite you to join our research team and embark on a journey of discovery. The Merensky group for Aerial Geological Image Classification (MAGIC) is offering two (2) postdoctoral research fellowships and two (2) postgraduate bursaries starting in 2024.

  1. Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (two positions)

Projects: Spectral Mapping for Mineral and Groundwater Resources.

Position Overview: We are seeking two motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellows to lead spectral mapping projects in South Africa. These projects will focus on advancing our understanding of mineral and groundwater resources through cutting-edge remote sensing techniques.

Qualifications: A doctorate in geology, remote sensing, or related fields is required. Strong analytical and research skills, a track record of academic excellence, and a passion for fieldwork and data analysis are essential.

2. PhD Bursary (one position)

Project: Field-Based High-Resolution Spectral Mapping for Mineral Exploration in South Africa.
