IKEA Property AB is the property specialist at Inter IKEA Group in Sweden. We own 12 real estates, and about 15 buildings in Älmhult, and we are both landlord and a support organization in property-related assignments where Inter IKEA Group have their business in Sweden.
Our assignment is to create preconditions for Inter IKEA Group companies to grow with a long-term sustainable perspective. We are developing our current and future business locations including both properties and outdoor areas to support the need of the business. We manage and develop our assets to increase long term value and create a better everyday life for the many co-workers at Inter IKEA Group.
IKEA Hotell is in the heart of IKEA, Älmhult. It was built in 1964 to welcome IKEA customers to stay a bit longer. Now, about 60 years later the IKEA Hotell is a business hotel with 250 hotel rooms, 5 conference rooms, large common areas, laundry room, gym and serve both breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Job description
Right now we are looking for a Master or bachelor student for a thesis project.
At IKEA Property AB, we are leading and delivering IKEA real-estate construction projects in collaboration with our tenants. We work with sustainability at different levels in all of our projects and we see the need to further develop this area.
In this thesis project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our sustainability journey by analysing the possibilities to use greywater in our business at IKEA Hotell in Älmhult. The goal of this thesis is to find If and How the use of greywaterat IKEA Hotell can be done, what are the best methods to use, what investments are needed and most importantly – what savings can be done, from a sustainability and economical perspective.
In this thesis project, you will
• Learn how we measure and work with water consumption today
• Explore different possibilities and challenges for how to handle greywater
• Evaluate and suggest the best possible method for use of greywater at IKEA Hotell
Qualification
Are you the one we are looking for? We are looking for a student with a curious mindset that is excited to discover how we at IKEA. We see that you enjoy interacting with others and is motivated to contribute in making life better for both people and the planet. You like structure and see the value in working with processes.
We also see that you are a bachelor or master’s student in engineering within the fields of construction, energy, sustainable management and industrial engineering. (Examples in Swedish: Högskoleingenjör inom byggteknik, energi och miljö, industriell ekonomi, byggnadsutformning, energi och hållbarhet)
More Information
The thesis period is planned to start during winter/spring 2024. After introduction days in Älmhult, the thesis can be completed 100% remotely with regular check-ins and a final face-to-face presentation.
The final result should be delivered as a report along with “work” files for further use.
