WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Riparian Restoration Program Manager will guide the implementation of a large multistate agreement between TNC and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), working with colleagues and partners across six states to plan and implement substantial wet meadow and riparian restoration projects. This role will provide connection and management support to the restoration teams in each state, including by convening a community of practice to develop cross-boundary knowledge and experience of permitting, prioritization, design, and implementation components of restoration projects. The Program Manager will provide essential support including project progress tracking, contract development assistance, and relationship management with BLM partners.
The Program Manager will also be a main point of contact with government agencies, other conservation organizations, and the academic community to identify opportunities and barriers to help the BLM improve riparian restoration practices and policy. This is a dynamic role that will adapt to the needs of the team, including by defining restoration priorities and long-term conservation strategies, developing key partnerships with public and private organizations, communicating solutions and best practices, and assisting with identifying and applying for additional funding to sustain this work long-term.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including staffing, workloads and finances under deadlines.
- Supervisory experience, and/or experience motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance.
- Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies
- Experience with contracts or agreements.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- 5-7 years’ experience in conservation practice or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience influencing, developing and implementing conservation policy and plans.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management, and riparian restoration or ecology.
- Experience working with federal or state land management agencies, especially Bureau of Land Management in the Intermountain West.
- Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising.
- Politically savvy.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
This role will at times work under minimal supervision and make independent decisions. This role will also work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.This role will travel frequently around the western U.S.
This position will report to the Western U.S. and Canada Division Sagebrush Sea Program Director. This is a grant-funded 4.5-year position.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $59,000 – $94,000 for annual base salary depending on geographic location and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
