The Oxford Water Network is a University-wide initiative to link together researchers working on water-related issues, foster interdisciplinary research, communicate the activities and outputs of water research at Oxford University, and build external partnerships with science, policy, civil society and business communities. The overarching goal of the Network is to promote Oxford University as a global centre of water science excellence and innovation with major impacts for policy, practice and the private sector.

The Oxford Water Network Coordinator will play a pivotal role in Oxford’s water research, coordinating internal and external communications and engagement, and holding responsibility for administration of the network. The post is based at the School of Geography and the Environment but will require engagement with all of the University departments involved in water-related research and/or education.

The successful candidate will be an experienced science communicator, events organiser and able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and researchers at all levels. An entrepreneurial mind-set, and the ability to take initiative and work independently, are essential. IT / digital media skills, including experience of managing website content, use of social media, Office packages, audio-visual content production, Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) or similar design software are required. This will ideally be combined with a good understanding of and willingness to learn about a broad range of water issues.

The appointment will be available part-time (50% FTE).
