About the Role:
The Coast and Seas Officer role contributes to the delivery of Green Adelaide’s operational program of work. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships to promote coordinated conservation and restoration of natural coast and marine environments, and improved coast and marine stewardship and biodiversity outcomes.

Desirable Knowledge:
- Understands the issue or problem that needs to be addressed or solved and can critically examine the possible causes and identify solutions.
- Takes a planned approach to organising work using available tools.
- Demonstrates a fundamental and current understanding of the principles of ecosystem based management, ecologically sustainable development, adaptive management and marine, coastal and estuarine management principles and practices.
- Demonstrates a fundamental and current understanding of project management including planning, procuring, risk managing, implementing and review projects.
- Maintains an up to date and sound knowledge of community engagement and consultation strategies and practices and has proven ability to develop and deliver community awareness and education programs and activities.
- Has in depth knowledge of the legislation and issues affecting natural resource management across the Green Adelaide region, particularly as they relate to marine, coastal, estuarine and environments.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in natural resource management, environmental science, or equivalent is desirable.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- May be required to undertake intrastate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence is essential.
Remuneration:
ASO5, $84,522 min – $94,003 max p.a., pro rata for part time.
