Job SummaryThe incumbent teaches and conducts research on sustainable environmental management,, water quality, and climate change. He/she may also contribute outreach/extension related to small farmers and underserved communities.
Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge and experience coding artificial neutral network systems in water resources management
Knowledge of and experience using statistical geographical information systems, and map window Demonstrates integrity
Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal
Strong time management skills
Passion for teaching and engaging with students
Skilled in mentoring students
Ability to work well with colleagues and foster a collegial environment conducive to teamwork and student’s high level of learning
Essential Job FunctionsConducts a requisite number of classes; teaches assigned subjects
Provides guidance and supervision to students
Creates and maintains an environment conducive to excellence in teaching, learning and research
Preparation and formulation of curricula focused on his/her subjects
Participates in departmental meetings and holds scheduled office hours
Maintains equipment in the laboratory, makes arrangements for laboratory, makes arrangements for laboratory practical sessions, and provides materials to students
Provides academic support to other faculty members
Serves on departmental and university committees, as assigned
QualificationsDoctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science, Agricultural/Biological Engineering, Natural Resource Management or related discipline ABD incumbents must complete their degree within six (6) months
