Position Details
The Waterway Health team is currently seeking a motivated professional with the passion and skills to contribute to the management of Victoria’s waterways under the impact of climate change.
As a part of our collaborative team, this position will be responsible for executing a range of projects in alignment with the Victorian Waterway Management Strategy. The primary focus of this role centers on the development of decision support tools, providing critical information and guidance to shape the strategic management of Victoria’s waterways. The results of this work will be integrated into guidance materials for the development of regional waterway strategies.
This position is ideally suited for applicants with technical expertise in natural resource management complemented by skills in critical thinking, project delivery, stakeholder management and collaborative teamwork.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate qualification in environmental science, natural resource, environmental management, social science or relevant equivalent.
- Experience working in the fields of water, catchment, natural resource or environmental management.
- Experience working in the public sector, such as within government agencies or statutory authorities.
- Knowledge of environmental data and its management (including databases and spatial data) is desirable.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
