Opportunity to join a team of professionals in the Estuaries and Catchment team within the Environment and Heritage Group
The Estuaries and Coastal team provide water environment data, technical expertise and strategic advice to help authorities and governments protect NSW waterways and manage coastal hazards. Our work provides safe swimming beaches for the community, and supports environmental water managers maintain healthy wetlands, catchment managers identify land-use pressures on estuaries and local government make decisions on coastal management.??
About the Role
As the Team Leader Catchment Health, you will design and drive delivery of Water Wetlands and Coastal Science programs and strategies to internal and external customers in line with priorities in the Environment and Heritage Group science and knowledge programs.
About You
You are a Leader, a qualified scientist with extensive project management experience, driven to enhance organisational, stakeholder and community knowledge related to improving waterway health. You enjoy coordinating across stakeholder groups and the community to co-design water, wetlands and coastal science programs and projects.
You have strong communication skills with the ability to lead communication and delivery of comprehensible, relevant and easy to access information to clients and to the community and the ability to develop and maintain an extensive network of contacts in NSW public sector agencies, other jurisdictions, research institutions, the private sector and non-government organisations.
Essential Requirements
- Scientific degree in a relevant field and/or demonstrated experience developing and leading rigorous, discrete, science programs in a relevant scientific discipline.
