WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Central Ohio Water Manager develops, manages, and advances water conservation and improvement programs, plans, and methods for Central Ohio. The Central Ohio Water Manager provides technical leadership and support to the Ohio business unit by planning, directing and implementing projects in Central Ohio to improve area waterways and align and prioritize corporate water sustainability goals with local and regional conservation priorities. They address critical threats to natural systems, guide conservation and align funding priorities across partners, foster cross-site learning among the regional conservation community, and supply conservation planning teams with relevant information. They develop and implement conservation strategies, employing a full range of protection and restoration tools to acquire varying degrees of legal interest in land and implementing a variety of strategies to secure public and private support for TNC and partner conservation priorities. May work outside of standard business hours, in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding conditions. A strong candidate for this position will thrive on bringing different interests together to find common goals and moving them forward through collaboration. They will be good at developing conservation ideas with others, prioritizing projects and strategies, and articulating a vision of success to both partners and supporters.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements.  
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
  • Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers.
  • Experience with land and water management conservation practice and conservation science.
  • Experience explaining conservation practices to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with current trends and practices in conservation, land and water management, and natural resource preservation and restoration.

SALARY INFORMATION

The estimated starting salary range for this position is $64,560 – $68,595 and will vary based on the location of the selected candidate.
