The salary range for this position is $5,800 – $6,300 per month (dependent upon experience). 

Summary of Work

General duties include agency environmental review program coordination and drought disaster livestock water supply assistance program administration (when activated). A successful candidate will also contribute to agency-produced public information materials, as well as internal and external outreach and engagement efforts. In addition, they will contribute to other strategic planning processes or special planning studies.

Duties and Tasks

  • Administer and coordinate the agency’s Environmental/Project Review Program.  This includes review of submitted projects or studies to provide agency input; discerning the level of review required for submitted projects; routing project reviews to pertinent agency staff; and compiling and organizing comments from agency divisions to develop responses.
  • Administering elements of the Drought Disaster Livestock Water Supply Assistance Program (when activated). This includes communicating with farmers, ranchers,
    contractors, and government agencies as needed to provide technical assistance; drafting and reviewing informational resources; evaluating applications to determine program eligibility; processing reimbursement requests; and conducting site inspections for program compliance as needed.
  • Develop and update informational and educational materials to inform the general public about agency activities and water management-related issues or projects.
  • Assist with delivery of programming related to the agency’s Water Education Program and International Project WET (Water Education Today).
  • Represent the agency and division on various boards and committees to provide technical assistance related to water management and development. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural resources management or planning, environmental studies, or a field related to the requirements of this position. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project or study management experience. 
  • Database management experience. 
  • General experience with GIS applications.
