Do you want to make a thorough contribution to the quality of research and education in the Northern Netherlands and to the social mission of higher professional education? Are you the link between education and the professional field?
Who are we looking for
We are looking for a skilled colleague with knowledge and expertise in the field of water technology, specifically in physical-chemical analysis of Water and Wastewater.
Where are you going to get started
The lectorate of Water Technology is an University of Applied Sciences (HBO or hogeschool) research group focused on physical-chemical water and wastewater treatment processes, e.g., thermo desalination, electrohydrodynamic atomization, micro and nano size contaminants, aeration and oxidation processes. Lectorates are company demand’s driven research groups. Which means that the work is performed in close cooperation with industries and companies inside and outside Europe. Also, the lectorate works closely with education to train new students in innovative methods and recruit new talents.
What are you going to do
In this position you will be invited to work with projects related to physical-chemical treatment of water and wastewater. You will also be the link between the lectorate and the two main analytical labs we work in partnership, the Water Application Centre (WAC) and Wetsus. You will take care of the physical-chemical water and wastewater analysis of the projects, guarantee and supervise the quality of the obtained results (from students and from partner laboratories), develop methods, being involved in efficient and correct use of the analytical equipment and guide(teach) students so they can perform and deliver good quality results. Experience with AF4 (Field Flow Fractionation systems) and ICP-MS is obligatory. Experience with SEM-EDX, Particle Size Analysis (PSA), Infrared Microscopy, Raman and Pyrolysis-GC is a plus.
You will be contributing in the research projects, guiding/teaching students, reporting to companies and will help to organize the main outputs of the lab, e.g., reports, papers, presentations in conferences, etc. Additionally, the candidate will be directly linked to the acquisition of new projects, together with, and under supervision of other researchers from the group.
You will also contribute to conducting independent research. And contribute to publishing the results in scientific, technical journals and digital knowledge and exchange platforms. You guide students adequately in the research projects. You are able to go through projects in a structured method (integral product development) and you know how to transfer the knowledge from the projects to the students.
Profile sketch
