Who are we looking for
We are looking for a skilled colleague with knowledge and expertise in the field of water technology, specifically in Electrohydrodynamic Atomization (EHDA).
Where are you going to get started
The lectorate of Water Technology is an University of Applied Sciences (Hbo or hogeschool) research group focused on physical-chemical water and wastewater treatment processes, e.g. thermo desalination, electrohydrodynamics, nano-particles in water, aeration, iron removal. Lectorates are company demand’s driven research groups, which means the work is performed in close cooperation with industries and companies inside and outside Europe. Also, the lectorate works closely with education to train new students in innovative methods and recruit new talent for the company’s projects.
What are you going to do
In this position you will be invited to work specifically with the activities of the Gilbert-Armstrong lab. Thus, with the projects related to high-voltage, plasma treatment, electrospinning and electrohydrodynamic atomization. The candidate will be contributing in the researchprojects, guiding the students, reporting to companies and will help to organize the main outputs of the lab, e.g. reports, papers, presentations in conferences, etc. Additionally, the candidate will be directly linked to the acquisition of new projects, together with, and under supervision of other researchers from the group.
You will also contribute to conducting independent research. And contribute to publishing the results in scientific, technical journals and digital knowledge and exchange platforms. You guide students adequately in the research projects. You are able to go through projects in a structured method (integral product development) and you know how to transfer the knowledge from the projects to the students.
Profile sketch
- A bachelor in natural sciences, preferably in applied physics, nano-technology and/or material sciences.
- Experience with electrohydrodynamic Atomization (EHDA) and high voltage related systems and safety.
- Project management skills.
- Good communication skills, good reporting and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English (Fluency in Dutch is a plus).
- Experience with guiding and supervising students.
- Lab management experience and good organizational skills.
- Demonstrable work experience in organizing and conducting research.
- Experienced in drafting research proposals.
- Experienced in working in small research teams.
- Teamworker as well as capable of working independent.
- Capable of structuring multiple tasks efficiently.
We offer
A very international environment conducting projects in collaboration with many academic institutes and companies inside and outside The Netherlands. An inspiring team and possibilities to connect and work with many educational levels, from HBO (technical) to PhD. Working in a unique environment, combining high voltage and water technology to develop new and strategic ideas in both fields. The salary is a maximum of € 5,019,73 (scale 10 CAO HBO) gross per month for a full-time job, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus. The contract is initially for one year/half year, starting in September 2023.
